Aiki Flinthart has been writing since...forever. But luckily her first efforts have been murdered and buried, never to be revived. In 2011 she released the hugely popular YA series, 80AD, written for her young son. After getting massive positive feedback from people all around the world, she thought maybe she should do this writing thing a bit more seriously. Since then she's learned a great deal and now has 11 published novels, with more to come. She writes mostly speculative fiction with action-y heroines and heroes, but there is one romance in there as well. Of course, her heroine rescues herself, rather than waiting to be saved. When not writing, she likes to help other authors and gives workshops on writing fight scenes for women, and on using personality profiling to create unique characters. These have been well-received at the writers conventions and centres around Australia. She has also edited two anthologies of short stories for her writing group. In her spare time, she practices martial arts (18 years), archery, knife-throwing, lute-playing, bellydancing, and painting. Occasionally she sleeps.
